i got the reman off ebay, from a seller that came highly recommended by some members here. i don't remember the sellers name though.

i do have some paperwork that came with the engine... i'll see what it says about specs.

While your looking for the specs, I know I could find this out by searching the forums, but do you know if my 7.3 manifold, injection pump, glow plug relay etc... will work with this engine?

BTW i'm going to Hilton Head Island SC Oct 9-16 to visit my cousin. for $200 i could load the engine in my truck and deliver it that far. otherwise i'll be driving my wife's Saturn (32 mpg). food for thought ;)

Rob, It's a really good deal, but I think I'm going to go with a 1500.00 rebuild I found here in middle florida, I can pick it up, it's a long block rebuild and I'm going to keep my old motor until I can verify everything is good with this rebuild.

Thanks, and just curious, the warning tag you scanned says the oil system must be pressurized prior to starting, how does one do that?

good question

i guess i'll have to figure that out at some point. if this engine doesnt sell i may end up getting a truck with a blown engine to stick it in. ya never know.

at this point i'm just looking to get my money back.

To prime the oiling system without starting...

Disconnect the FSS on the injection pump and crank the engine over for a few seconds.

i think i might add to that, leave out the glow plugs until the oil system is primed. easier cranking and no compression loads on the bearings.

I realize I might be showing my lack of knowledge, but, "What is the FSS on the injection pump?" exactly?

I'm guessing it's either the fuel line or ???
