The FAQ went into depth about this but it didnt seem to say if you actualy remove the CDR and thread a barb into the valve cover where the CDR went in, or do you leave the CDR in place and just cap the intake side and run the RDT hose off of the CRD valve itself. The PO of my 7.3 had the RDT running of the CDR itself but its rednecked to the max (kinks everywhere, leaky, tied with string/duct tape etc) then it ran to a irragation water filter, which led to a hose up by the gas tank and leaked oil everywhere, as you see by the photos the filter is packed with oil. is that in the norm to leak like that? I have no idea how long its been on there, so it could just be a horribly clogged filter. Guess i better run it and see what it does and how much oil comes out with it off. I probably dont even need that filter anyhow?
Thanks for everything, posted a lot of dumb stuff lately, asking dumb questions, i took all your advice and read the FAQ and hall of shame etc. Helped so much!! Hopefully I can ask more valuably questions now haha. Love the site! Stoked I joined!
Cheers - Will

Here is how the Banks CDR sysrem is hooked up.
The 1" hose comes off the timing gear tower, then goes to the CDR, from the CDR a hose goes into the intake where the where the CDR was originally attached.

Well i found where its suppose to go into the intake, but i dont see a sense in running that nasty air into the intake and since i live where i do in Oregon no one cares about emissions and what not. So i want to stick with the RDT. Just not sure exactly how to do it as said in my original post.

Again,

RDT bad idea. Physics. For every amount of crap that goes out, an equal amount of dirt comes in. Just one of the reasons engines of yesteryear only lasted 30,000 miles, (if you were lucky), before needing rebuilt.

A lot of guys went to great lengths to make all variations of RDT. If you don't mind spilling oil on yours or someone elses driveway, go at it. Anything smaller than a 1" hose is not going to be big enough. The crankcase pressure shouldn't exceed much over 2-3 PSI if any. It don't take much pressure to blow oil past the crank seals. The intake where the CDR is designed to be, has a very little vacuum, but it does contribute to relieve the CC pressure.

Put the cdr back to normal configuration and your engine will be a happy engine. The blowby and oil vapor going back into the engine thru the intake is not a bad thing at all. It helps lube the intake valve guides and the upper cylinders too. Plus oil is fuel to our idi engines. Its not much but it helps.
