I was concerned about the balance myself, but what that other guy said, he made it sound like it wasn't an absolute have to thing.
The other thing, I'd have to ship mine, because there's no-one close that has the tooling that can balance these things.

He also said that they do quite a few impeller replacements, and alot of people opt out of having the Garretts (GTP38, TP38)balanced due to the cost, and they've not ever had one come back with damage, or excessive wear due to being out of balance , but on the other hand...they recommend balancing the Holset......so...dunno...

I dunno though.....120,??? rpms is awful fast to be out of balance, even if it's only a few grams

did they state why they feel the need to balance holset turbochargers?

are you simply rebuilding it or are you planning a wheel upgrade as well?

It's supposed to be the same as the wicked wheel 1.
It's supposed to add a few extra psi throughout the entire rpm band, while eliminating surge, but nothing major.

I found a 7 blade wheel after i had already purchased and installed this current kit.

Maybe next time lol

I'm hoping to make roughly 15 psi , give or take,

If so I'll be happy, any additional is just a bonus

I've kicked around the idea, 20 times.
I'll have to ship it if i do, there's no-one in my area...at all...from Roanoke to Knoxville that can

So i called Conestoga, and spoke with Jeff, i think that was his name.
From what i understood he was the, or one of the, main turbo guys.
He said that unless i was adding metal, or removing metal, and as long as i was using a reputable, prebalenced wheel, i was wasting my time balancing it.

So, saying that, I'm gonna put her on and let her ride.

She turned out pretty good, everything tightened up real nice.
I'll post pics soon

I will say, even with just a 5 blade impeller, you can put your nose near the pressure side, and spin the exhaust side with your finger, and literally feel the breeze.

I'm impressed

That's just a quickie coat of rattle can high heat paint.
Rather had black, but sliver, aluminium, or whatever color was all they had. This friggin Wal-Mart has everything, except what you need.

It'll burn off soon anyway, supposed to be good to 2000° f.........yeah right
