Question on some idiot lights

Hey all I'm not 100% on all these yet.

On the right side of dash there seems to be amulti function panel with lights.

I understand the WTS light and the Water in fuel light.

What is the purpose of the Engine Temp light?

mine occasionally glows dim then as speed increases it will ge t abit brighter but if i look at the temp guage it shows cool... (the guage does work i can watch it go up and down when i tow) mind you the light never came on when i was towing so i'm confused....

The engine temp light is controled by a differant sensor than the guage is. It is located on the left front corner of the drivers side head. Probably is bad. Unplug the wire and the light should go off. THe sensor is just a switch that closes at about 245 deg(if memory serves).


Unless they changed things by '93.

Mont has it correct. I kept trying to get to the pipe plug on the rear of the driver side head to install my sender for my water temp gauge. Gave up and pulled the engine temp light sensor and installed the gauge sender there. My sender is in the tool box if you are in the neighborhood this weekend...
