Pulling with an Auto

Any one here ever pull with an Auto? I have pulled mine before in 4 Low in 2nd. Any ever try to pull in 4 Low in just Drive with Overdrive off? Any input would be appreciated.

Just pulled my 96 auto this weekend. It worked real good in drive, would hold about 2700 rpm's. I thought maybe it was lugging to much so I shifted to 2nd and the rpm's went to about 3500 and it slowed down. Went back to 3rd and went 294 before it spun out. First time pulling in 20 years so it was kinda fun even though I didn't win.
