Without labor costs, what should my cost be too replace the head gaskets In my 6.9. Have banks non gated on it. Probably get a whole gasket set. What's my best bet?

About $150.00 max... Thats for the valve job gaskets which are the heads, valve covers and exhaust manifolds. Then you need the intake valley pan gasket. Ebay has the valley pan gaskets all the time. Once in a while you can find the valve job gasket set too.

It depends on how far you want to go while you are already in there. I will put aside around 1500 when I eventually do mine. That includes taking heads in for rebuilds and miscellaneous parts such as new lifters and maybe rockers and pushrods if needed. I will also be putting studs in it.

I'm a college student too. One more semester and I'm all done! You can buy either fel-pro or Victor reinz head gasket kits. I have heard the valve stem seals in the fel-pro kit don't fit too well so I'm going with the Victor reinz kit.

Where can I get the victor reinz gasket set? I looked online having no luck
I bought victor reinz valve cover gaskets for mine at Autozone. I bet they would have the head sets also.
Amazon has them both in stock also.
Search for victor reinz hs5869 (head set) and for intake manifold gasket ms15968.
About 160 for both.

i got my fel-pro head set and valley pan from rock auto for about $130 shipped to my door. i would HIGHLY recommend going with head studs. the peice of mind knowing that your heads are not going anywere is priceless. i am SO glad i did studs on mine.
Car Quest carries them, Any quality parts house that carries Dana product lines can get them. a few vendors on ebay do as well

That is the right gasket kit. In my opinion, I do not think the felpro gaskets will change your compression ratio when compared to victor reinz gaskets. They will both yield the same cylinder compression ratio.

If I just buy that, will that be all I need? What else will I need too do my head gaskets, that isn't in that kit? I'm new too this And am purchasing tonight hopefully

You will need to but the intake gasket set as well. I would not re-use the old one if you want it done right.
Don't forget antifreeze, oil change, permatex gasket in a tube, all the little stuff that goes into doing the job right the first time.
