pressin piston cooling nozzles

i am looking for a set of 8 pressin piston cooling nozzles. if anyone has any they are looking to sell PM me with a price, or it anyone would no were to get some would be good to. any info would be helpful

I would check your local machine shops, when I had my block work done they removed the old ones and installed new for me and returned the old ones to me.

I remember you saying the shop forgot to install the squirters but did they lose them also? Also no one on that other forum said for sure if you could upgrade to the later bolt in style squirters or not. If that were possible I'd go that route, since there are fewer 83, 84 engines out there, I think it was in 85 or 86 they made the change.

i started this project about 5 years ago so i have no clue what happen to them. I had a shop building the motor and it was getting no where so i pulled it and decided to do it myself. so it been a while. i had 93iditurbo in the truck and put a connecting rod through the block so i had a push to get the 6.9 done. also i looked you can not upgrade there is just a hole there not enough flat there to drill and tap a hole for a bolt

My engine is an '85 and it has the pressed in piston cooling nozzles the change took place in '86 I think and there is no place to drill and tap a hole for the bolt in nozzles

X2 on that...FWIW according to the attached list, the new design started with block # 237016. I've also heard from multiple sources that there's no practical way to retrofit the bolt-on nozzles to an earlier block. Unfortunately, I thought I had also heard that the press-in nozzles were one-time use items and were starting to be difficult to source...for that reason and concerns about the weak sidewall, I've actually put some thought into putting a different block in my truck if/when it comes time to do a rebuild (my block is a late '83)...

Actualy a member here has the installation tool and the alignment tool for this job. Mich is where he is located I think. Pm DieselDogCatcher about doing this for you. He works on alot of these idi engines and is very good at what he does. Drop my name and get a 69% off gift cretific too... No... Not really. Ron is a great guy that knows these engines and really like blue paint...

well ford still offers them $54 a pice

And I let a set of them go in a junk block that cavitated bad and didn't feel like draining out several gallons of coolant contaminated oil. :-(

$54 for one nozzle? How does that compare with a new bolt-in nozzle?

$432 for a set of nozzles seems quite expensive to me but I don't know how that compares to the bolt-ins...
