It needs a turbo...
I have done the search and could not find what I was looking for. I have a powerstroke turbo and a factory one off of an ambulance. Which one will be the best for a daily driver? How much boost will I see out of each? I have a turbo pump, ported heads, Russ torque grind cam, ZF5 and a few other things I am sure I am missing.
Right now it is supercharged and I have been in a lul by life and weather. I have been able to get back on the horse and am about a weeks worth of work from having the SAS complete (provided the rain does not continue). After that, I am going to work on building the turbo kit. I have the up pipes, connector, and down pipe off of the powerstroke setup so even fabbing that will be a cakewalk. The blower only makes 8 psi on a good day and is usually about 5-7. I would like to at least double that with the turbo, so I am inclined to look towards the PS turbo. I have not been able to find anyone who has results, only saying that they SHOULD make about 14 with them.
How much do the factory turbo kits make? I could make the inlet for that pretty easily, or purchase it even easier. The down pipe for it would probably be the biggest challenge, and still an easy day. But if I cant make 14+ with it, its not really worth my time.
Thanks,
SWS
