The ad states 7.3 fuel injected.....I was correct when I assumed a 7.5 (460) as all diesels are fuel injected

That very well may be a diesel. Many people have no idea as to how a diesel works. Uhaul had a large quantity of our IDI equipped vehicles at one time.

Sadly, that "at one time" really only ended a few years ago...and, I'm pretty sure it ended because many people don't know how to drive a diesel. That probably meant that maintenance costs weren't much less than a g@$$er, and since U-Haul isn't paying the fuel, they determined that it was cheaper to go with g@$$ers. For Joe Q Public, there's some logic to that...but, yet another reason for me to go out of my way to avoid renting a U-Haul truck (although I still rent their trailers, albeit largely due to a lack of other options).

With that said, if you're referring to the truck in the first ad, to me that looks like an old ambulance, not a U-Haul truck.

That little 7.3 camper must get awesome MPG!

Considering I can put out 12-14mpg out of my real Class C 26 footer camper, with a 6.9 backed by a C6!

And x2, that looks like it was an old ambulance, weird it's only got a 351. Usually ambulances had diesels are big blocks.

The 1990 with the 351W reminds me of a similar 1989 E350 that was my regular work truck..... 351W + E4OD made for slow hill climbing. ;Pissed

And vacuum hoses, oh, yeah!! That nest of tiny original plastic vacuum hoses will start crumbling on you at the worst time.:(

EDIT: Just recognized that livery, BTW. Low mileage, as it was an American Red Cross disaster vehicle.

As for the Kentucky unit: Never had a problem or any issues?

A 7.5/460 that didn't warp and loosen exhaust manifolds? Never seen one that hasn't. LOL

More then I care to spend...

http://louisville.craigslist.org/rvs/3372619406.html

This is a Vintage 1970 Dodge Unger RV, I have own and enjoyed this camper for 21 years. Every where you camp people are all over this RV wanting to know what it is and how cool it is. One story comes to mind, I was camping at Biketober fest in 1998 at Beverly Beach Camp ground above Datona Florida. I was there for 8 days, I had a gentleman pull in a couple spots away in his new 40ft Provos and matching trailer, he would come up to me everyday wanting to buy my camper. And finally after the 6th or 7th day I told him I would trade him LOL.

It has a 413 Dodge engine with a 727 automatic transmission, 4000 watt onan generator, it runs and drives very good, i have had this from Kentucky to Key West, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee and ALL over. It could use a paint job, it has good tires, it has good brakes, it could a little TLC like a heater core. And the AC does work but it needs to be re-sealed for a small water leak.
I WILL CONSIDER TAKING ON TRADE A HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE OR A 24 FOOT INCLOSED TRAILER.
This email is from Dave Unger
