Hey everyone. I have a set of the Alcoa wheels that were recalled a long long time ago they're in pristine condition and they even have to Goodyear Wrangler tires that were two hundred bucks each to throw in on the deal. These are $1200 and $400 in tires for $500. And you can either drive them or return them to Alcoa and get a brand new set for free. They'll even pay for dis mounting and balancing and re mounting and balancing. Here's the letter that went out to the owners of these wheels. And it doesn't matter whether you the original purchaser or not they just want to get them off the road badly. I'm located in Orange County California and my email address is no I'm Max Headroom at gmail.com and from there I can give you my phone number thank you.

Letter to Consumers: Alcoa Voluntarily Recalls Aftermarket Light Truck Wheel

Safety Recall # 00E057: 16 x 7J Aluminum Forged Light Truck Wheel, Alcoa Part Number 167011, LTS style, 8 on 6.5 inch bolt pattern

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Dear Customer,

Alcoa Wheel Products has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in Alcoa forged aluminum light truck wheel, size 16x7J, LTS style, 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern, Alcoa part number 167011. (See Attachment #1 for style identification.). This potential defect is only on this particular style and wheel size, which is used primarily on 3/4 - and one-ton pick-ups. It is an aftermarket product and does not include any original equipment wheel.

Our records indicate that you have purchased Alcoa part number 167011 either through a local Distributor or direct from Alcoa. This wheel was sold from 1994 until September 2000. Attachment #2 contains the list of vehicles that this wheel could be used on.

Depending on the severity of how the vehicle is used by the owner, a crack can develop from hand hole to hand hole, across the wheel spoke. A crack that goes unnoticed can result in additional cracks and potential failure over time if the wheel is not removed from service. Failure can include separation of the wheel from the vehicle if the crack is allowed to propagate around the entire circumference of the wheel.

Please inspect your 16x7, Alcoa part number 167011 wheels immediately for the presence of a crack. Attachment #3 shows where a crack can develop and a close-up photo shows what you may see when performing a visual inspection. You can inspect your wheels and visually confirm the presence of a crack before there is a risk of immediate service failure.

Wheels with cracks need to be removed from service immediately. All 167011 wheels should be removed from service as soon as practical. Alcoa will replace the wheels with an alternate style wheel, part # 167001A, offering a quick exchange at no cost to consumers. (A photograph of the replacement wheel is included in Attachment #1.) In addition, a modified design of the LTS style wheel (new part number167031) will be available for shipment within 180 days. This exchange is at no charge to you, including reasonable costs of demounting the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle, changing the tire to a replacement wheel, balancing and remounting the assembly. Customers and dealers can determine whether a wheel is included in this recall by checking the part number in the wheel roll stamp, positioned on the inside of the rim near the hand hole and in line with the valve location. (See Attachment #1.)

We need you to take the following actions immediately:

If you have Alcoa part number 167011 wheels on your vehicle, please inspect your wheels using Attachment #3 as a guideline or take your vehicle to a local tire or service center to have your wheels inspected. Please provide the dealer with the enclosed illustration showing where the part number is stamped on Alcoa wheels and what to inspect for.
Have the tire center call the Alcoa Campaign Center at (800) 242-9898 option#1 for additional instructions and an Authorization Number before initiating any work on you vehicle. The Authorization Number will be necessary to allow payment for services, to arrange for billing, and to arrange the return of wheels.
If the wheels are no longer in your possession, please contact the Alcoa Campaign Center at (800) 242-9898 option#1, so that transfer of ownership can be documented and efforts can be made to contact the new owner.

For more information on the recall, replacement procedures and replacement wheels, call (800) 242-9898 option#1, Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM and 4:30 PM, or write the Alcoa Wheel Service Center at 106 N. 1st Avenue, Clarion, PA, 16214.

Women! Well, like the saying goes "You can't live with them and you can't kill them". The rims are clear coated from the factory so no need for polishing. Thanks for the reply. I'd consider some type of trade for two-wheel Transportation ( Mountain bike or motorized preferably) or ? really.
