surprisingly it does matter!
but not by much.
i spent all morning doing this, but i think it was well worth it.
all torquing sequence was the same.
70 ft lbs, 90 ft lbs and 110 ft lbs.
normally regular bolts would get torqued down to 75 then 95,
but i used the sequence of the studs and girdle to eliminate and difference in the clamping method.
i did all 5 mains on the first round.
they were all the same.
so i decided to go through the process on just #3, the thrust bearing.
the first round was with just 2 bolts.
110 ft lbs.

oops i forgot to snap a pic of the caps w/ 2 bolts installed.

kinda hard to see in the pictures, but with the studs and girdle, its more like 0.002"

either way tollerances should be .0011 - .0036
which im well within!;Sweet

crankshaft end play was .003
should be .0025-.0085 ;Sweet

thank god!!! LOL

When you attempt bolting up the oil pump suction be prepared for some modification that will "have" to be down for it to be secure. Remember number 3 main bearing has the odd bolt with the tiny threaded piece for the long suction to be bolted up to. Do not run without that either. As long as the suction is you surely will snap it off with the engines natural vibration harmonics. But nicely pictured and the work looks great.

I've already noticed that Gary, yes some modification will have to be done.
Gonna contact Justin and see what he did.
But I can easily fab something to bolt to the girdle.
Not too big of an issue, just more work.
I've got enough of it :D

EDIT:
only thing i have to do is drill out the bracket on the oil pick up.
remove the washer, and install on the same stud. easy peazy.
the girdle is the same size of the head on that bolt.

Nope... Not as easy as you think. Please test fit the pan on after you have the pickup tube fastened to the main bearing stud. I think you will find the pan will be help off the block by the now too low in the sump shower head suction. But do this before any rtv is applied...
