picking up a parts van on Sunday 2003 E350 7.3 powerstroke

bought a parts van and picking up on Sunday. man is the body ever mangled , guy was hauling truck parts with it and even cut out the floor and hinged it access the rear battery. i'll have to take a picture of that. it runs very nice and trans seems good and strong. I needed a storage receptacle fro a few powerstroke engines/trans and 2 7.3 idis wanted to keep and cut the vans up.
this one runs and drives and also has all the powergoodies that are broken on my highmile 2003 club including some nice front buckets.

I'll take some pics and post here, the hinged battery lid gave me a laugh! I think it was a good $500 (Canadian)spent, could drive it home but will trailer it anyway that way I don't need another body to help. might switch the seats out before I actually take it home> mine are absolutely shreaded and armrests are worn out and supports broken off.

boss ladys rule : any parts vehicle has to be mobile, under its own power.

this is my 3rd 2003 including my driver, whats special about the harness. I also have a 2000 E450 with a 7.3 powerstroke awaiting cutting up.
I knew that the 2003 was a good year fro the 7.3 but haven't had any issues with my daily .

iirc the '01 and up have the powedered metal rods. I'm usually on the hunt for the '99 and '00 motors.
imho, the PSD van is my most economical choice for sourcing good used motors that I can "test drive" before extracting and installing into F-series chassis. needless to say, there is much swapover work to do. you basically have to break it down to a long block assy and build it back up to go into a Fseries engine bay

you recall correctly, but i think the change over was mid 01'.. i wanna say May.

im usually on the hunt for the 96-97 7.3's, they seem to be the cheapest
and no worry about accidentally getting the PMR's.
when i did my powerstroke, the heads off a 96 and the 01 were the same casting numbers on the heads.

the vans have no issue swapping over, its the early early 94's i believe. that were OBD I.
but a OBD II can be used in its place.

the harness i have is a 96 harness, just modified and have all the extra stuff deleted.

damnit, I went to my parents farm for Mothersday over an hour away. went to hook up to my trailer to go pick it up and realized I forgot my ramps.

I had the whole family ready to go on time and loaded up , just forgot what I needed. I work in that area, loaded the ramps in my van as soon as we got home . D'OH.

I couldn't even find the guys contact info so I just drove there and gave him the rest of the money, will get it on Mon or Tues. he is leaving it accessible so all I need to do is back up to it and load it up.

he gave me a tour of his collection, glad I never missed out, he had a Rumley oil pull, an oil hart/parr tractor, several old crawlers, several old stationary engines. wow this guy had some cool *****, he is over 60 and has no kids and no nieces/nephews with any interest in his stuff

picked it up monday afternoon, already swapped out the drivers seat, way better than the one in my daily. I forgot how worn out my seat was

got it home tonite and unloaded at 3am, good thing I live in the country .

I'll try and get some pics, going to stick a coupel good batteries into it so its mobile and can start stuffing it with parts.

she is one ragged old van but I stuck a good used 31S in the rear and a BXT65 under the hood and it fired right up, already filling it up with parts and bootin around the yard.
