Anyone want to measure thier trucks and tell me how wide they are??? I have an 85 with IFS front, and 37x13.5x17's. It threw a rod today in the woods and is going on a trailer tomorrow morning when I head back up there, but want to make sure that it will fit between the wheel wells of the trailer. I'm sure at this point I'll have to put stock tires on it, but want to make sure, that with stock tires, it'll be narrower than 80".

It seems to me that the rear axle is more narrow than the front, so maybe, if anyone is inclined to measure, could measure both front and rear.;Sweet

Thanks

Chris

That sucks. Why do you think the rod went? Did you loose oil pressure?

I'm not sure why it went. OP was good, been running fine, but it has had one rod that I suspected to be bent, had low compression on number 6. I hadn't driven it but maybe 400 miles since I bought the truck. I always figured I'd live with the little bit of a miss, never imagined it'd throw a rod. The previous owner had said one of his sons ran it through a mudhole and possibly ingested water. When the rod went, I was just pulling off the pavement onto a spur road to finish airing up the tires, probably wasn't turning a grand when it started makin some noise.

Bring some stockers to throw on the front, and you'll be fine. A deck over is not needed. I regularly haul my wheeling truck around on a bobcat trailer that is 80" inside the wheelwells and have no issues, with my boggers(38.5x11's) on it just squeaks through, but with stockers it fits fine.

Wouldn't you like to know
You all must have wider trailers then I deal with. Most of the trailers I've delt with won't fit one without hanging odd the side or hitting the rails.

Got it all back today, with the 37-13.5's it was at 81" wide, probably would have squeezed through the fenders, but I threw one stock tire on to be safe. Thanks for all your input.
