on board air air hose?

what kind of hose or line would you recomend to use to run from the tank to the air horns or quick connects I would like something for a reasonable price but with good durability and easy to run along and around stuff Thanks

I use just plain old 3/8" rubber air hose; if it will last for years, being drug across the shop floor, run over countless times a day, and under standing 200 PSI day in and day out, then it will last for millenia hanging under the truck.

The in-cab gauge-line can be that little oil-pressure gauge tubing.

I used the plastic line just like they install on semi truck air line systems. If I recal it is not expensive and I'm sure it would be more DOT approved and last longer than rubber lines. It is also easy enough to route it in and around what ever. Try a semi truck supply shop they should have what ever size you need and the fittings. Which brings me to another advantage of the plastic. The fittings will be a lot easier, nicer looking, and safer than a rubber hose and a hose clamp.

+1 on DC's comments. If you're working with stuff that's not bridging between the motor and chassis, the hard nylon line is what all rigs use these days. I still like using rubber line for the stuff connecting the motor to the chassis though. biggest reason is for the vibration isolation.

I have what DC and Towcat are talking about on mine and in the shop! I love the stuff, easy to work with and no rust (in the shop). We used it at the machine shop to route air from two outside compressors throughout the shop, it has been there for years with no problems, but I would isolate it from vibration as Towcat said. We just put a piece of rubber line between the entry point and our compressors to handle it, made a loop, like a drip loop and hooked it together. My compressor on my truck is electric, so I didn't have to go to the engine, but I would definetely get a good 3 foot tool lead and use it from an engine mounted compressor to the chassis mounted line.

I've had the same shop air hose on the Moose Truck pretty much its whole life and have not had a leak with it yet.
