Oil temp sensor

good morning. Whoever previously installed an oil temp gauge in my truck, used the drain hole in the pan for the sending unit.
Not only does is drip a little but it's a pain for changing the oil.
Can someone suggest an easy place to move it to and I'll go buy a normal drain plug.

Just get rid of it completely?

Drain plug should be available at NAPA and the like. The sender could be moved to the turbo's oil galley or one of the oil galley plugs on the drivers side of the block. They are a pain to get to as they run along the block behind the oil cooler. There are three. One near the very rear of the block (where most turbo's get their oil supply), in the middle (again behind the oil cooler) and in the front (it is trapped under the engine mount bracket that bolts to the block.

I think that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Just one more gauge to watch and I've never had one on any of my other trucks.

Thanks Heath. I just picked up the drain plug.
I'm just gonna remove the gauge

Oil changed, new drain plug in and sensor is gone. There's one less leak to deal with now.
Lol, I think they're all just about fixed

Kenny if you look at the Frantz bypass filter web page you will find the fitting they use for a oil pan filter drain back. Its a fitting that has a rubber seal on it and it screws into the side of the oil pan.I have never seen or used this fitting but I still wonder if it is a "leak free" fitting....
