I'm combing through the Uhauparts site (thanks to those who pointed it out, especially the 20% off)

and, under "Engine Parts" (for the 89-90 trucks) I am finding a category for "Oil Reservoir" with a part number f2tz6728a- which does not bring anything up in google.

The parts listed under this "Oil Reservoir" category also talk about "fabricated hoses local" so I am wondering if this is a part that was not always found on the stock trucks.

Anyone know what this is? Can't help but wonder.

uhaul has trucks built to their spec.

I run their tranny pan for the Ford 4R70W on my crown victoria since it has a drain plug and holds an extra 2 quarts.

when i took the motor out of the parts uhaul truck there was this tank with custom fabbed hoses to the engine oil cooler. Its to hold extra oil for longer drain intervals, 16 quarts if i remember correctly.

If it ties in at the oil cooler, it's in the pressurized oil system.

Makes me wonder if it could be something like an "oil accumulator"- and if it is, whether it's set up to provide lube at start up- which'd be a great feature.

I dropped a message to one of the Uhaul guys over on FTE for him to stop by here and answer any questions. Hopefully he'll do so. Looks like they have some cool parts we may want to add to our trucks.

Thanks for giving all of us a heads up on the 20%!
