The picture shows my solid steel 3/8th line -I wanted a lot of oil. I was concerned with the vibration stress cracking the steel,so I bent it so it was under tension And anchored it with rubber wire cable holders to prevent vibration (the worst enemy of steel & very abundant on a diesel). As usual criticism will be welcomed as that is a learning thing for us all.
The brass fitting by the intake is a brass "T" soldered to a piece of heavy sheet metal drilled ,then run under the return lines to an intake manifold bolt. The sender on the T is a 7 lb oil pressure switch wired to a back up buzzer in the cab under the dash there is an over heat sensor on the right rear of the head,my mechanical temp sensor is on the lower left front of the head where the original over heat sensor was.
The factory oil pressure sensor is where it always was and a mechanical oil gage is also mounted on the "T". the wires for temperature over heat and low oil pressure is attached to the oil sensor on the brass fitting. The object is that if engine is too hot or oil pressure is too low ,also if vacuum is low a buzzer sounds in the cab to instantly warn of a serious condition. No one can truthfully say they watch the gages close enough that one of these conditions would "NEVER" be missed. I feel this is an important safety & engine protective device.
