oil feed for turbo

I am in the process of installing A NA motor in my truck and installing my turbo from my factory turbo motor that I pulled out of the truck. I noticed that the oil port on the back of the block of the NA motor is 1/8" and on the Turbo motor is 1/4". When installing the ats turbo on a NA motor where does the oil feed come from. Do you use the same port as the factory Turbo motors use or do you use a port with a larger hole some where else on the motor.

Is these what your asking about? I think they were drilled 1/4" for the turbo engines. I used the 1/8" on the flange ear, 1st pic, for my Banks turbo on an 88 engine, no problem so far.

Is these what your asking about? I think they were drilled 1/4" for the turbo engines. I used the 1/8" on the flange ear, 1st pic, for my Banks turbo on an 88 engine, no problem so far.

Only the turbo blocks with a serial number 1,116,331 and up had a 1/4 inch main oil galley port. All 6.9 and 7.3 non turbo blocks were 1/8 inch ports. These turbos run fine being supplied oil by a 1/8 inch port or none of the major turbo makers could sell us a turbo ... Thanks for the great pics too bull... BTW in the first pic that freeze plug in the block near the lower rear corner is the plug I have been saying to remove. My thoughts these 7.3 engines will run cooler with them removed. I have not found any reason for them to be there and in the heads too. Just run a 6.9 head gasket on a 7.3 because the 6.9 gaskets are cut for this coolant passage.. The 7.3 is not cut for coolant to flow thru this area. These plugs must be for running hotter to meet air quality requirements. Look at a 6.9 block.. They run these coolant passages open and they run cool and fine. We add more fuel and turbos which adds more heat that the stock radiator can't handle for too long of time. A Rodney Red almost is the complete fix but please... Open these plugs in the 7.3 engines and run the 6.9 head gaskets.. They fit fine and all the fire rings, bolt holes and coolant passages match perfectly. I have done some work on this and I find no reason for the plugs of a mechanical nature.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the the pipe nipple out of the back of the block where the oil pressure sending unit was in the na motor because it was longer than the nipple for the turbo engine. This is when I noticed that the port in the turbo block was larger. I searched the site for any info on this subject and was unable to find anything, so I assumed it would work properly. But I don't like assuming.
