The pressure regulator or whatever it's called popped out. How does it go back in?

And am I missing something on the oil filter end?

And I found this.

Well lets see. The first picture is not the oil pressure regulating valve area. What you see in that pic is the oil filter bypass valve. Its design is to bypass a plugged oil filter so the engine gets oil even if its dirty oil. As for the blue crap stuck in the cooler bundle. nope.. Can't say what the material is but its not part of the cooling system. Has the engine been overhauled. If so this might be some material that got trapped in the block from other cleaning pieces. Those pieces of the valve and spring belongs in the seal side of the rear filter head to the oil cooler. Its just staked into the aluminum housing like the bypass valve is. You need to have three pieces of that valve too. I only see two pieces. theres the outer shell. The inner plunger and the spring. Has anyone every removed this oil cooler before and how did this fall apart..

The inner brass or bronze part was there.
Supposedly the engine had never been apart.
I'm second owner of truck, but third owner of the engine. So it's just hearsay.

It was definitely rtv. Found some in the rad too.

I think I got it back together correctly.
