Well,Needless to say I am a little past postal at the moment!I dropped the batteries in just now that I got last night so I could move the Enterprise around back to work on her.....well.Let me say this....I have even more problems than I had when I first got her.I don't know what the <Censored> is wrong. In drive I get get maybe 1000 RPMs.I have NEVER driven a vehicle with this little of power.Nothing.I have a stump in the back yard about 4" tall and she couldn't even push over it.I barely made it with a 5 foot peddle to the floor run.Blowing more black smoke than a 1800s freight train.Engine sounds WAY off noise wise.Sounded like a gasser it was so quiet.Cold advance shut down on me in under a minute too. With all the smoke I noticed no boost too. Can't hear an exhaust leak but there was a substantial amount of smoke comming up between the engine and fire wall(I fired her up with the hood up.To be exact,I fired her up,got out, closed the hood, and about the time I closed the door the fast idle turned off.)I don't know what the **** this ************ did to my **** truck but I am slightly **** at the moment!65 bucks for a tow to his shop,1500 to have the engine installed.80 for the tow home.Ewwww,I need a strong something.........

Yeah, that cummings guy really screwed it. :backoff I think it's all in the timing though. I mean, it sounds like it's practically at the point where it's not getting almost any combustion in the cyilnders which means the timing is just so monkied up. Get the timing right and she'll run just fine man. Just loosen up the pump and start moving it around, not like you can do much more damage now, if any was done anyways.

Get the brakes patched up and you'll even be able to stop! :D ;Sweet

There had better not be any damage or this little(Ok,not so little) Appalachian American might go on the rampage.Might order a Stage 1 setup Saturday. If I get my Ferret hicky in and find out the pump was just off I will put the Stage ones aside for my other engine build.

Sounds like timing is Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off.

BTW, not trying to add insult to injury but I knocked over three 8" stumps with a 2500lb 4 cylinder 1984 Chrysler Lebaron's back bumper last week, sure was fun:rotflmao , neighbor thought I was crazycookoo ....It was a junk car I towed and just took it to the crusher today:eek: ... $172 in the pocket, not bad for a couple hours of playing around.

What was that about smoke between the engine and firewall, I wonder if that guy put your turbo back on teh right way? No boost, lots of smoke...eh...mayeb look into it, but the timikng is the major problem, and I ahve to wonder if its off on the gear and not just the pump, especially since we know the gear cover was off to swap over teh 7.3 style one... Sorry to hear of more bad luck

I'll have to vote for the gear timing myself, I can't believe there is enough timing adjustment on our pumps to cause this condition.

I concure with IDI. My 85 was retarded 1 tooth and was still drivable. I'd pull the timing cover off and reset the IP gear as on Ziggs website.

It would be great if the guy that spunked up your motor could fix it but I dought he knows what to do now. Anybody that would "fix" something for money and then gice it to you without it working properly wont get my return business or any future business. I'm with most here about the pump gear being off. It just seems the only place to look. Sure its going to be a job but look at it this way. When you "find" what this guy did wrong and fix it yourself you"ll have that neat feeling of doing it yourself pride. Go at it easy and with an idea of what things should look like. Please post back what you find. We are all with you and just a post away.

you know, that might not be a bad idea........I wouldn't doubt they may have left a rag in there.Even though it did have great suction when a stuck my hand up to the turbo inlet.....ok,not a great idea but it worked.....
