I just finished swapping a 6.9 into my 87 and the first few times i turned the key it would start up, but now I get nothing. When i turn to start it the dash and "wait to start" dims like its sending the juice but there is no click, and no starter. It has a manual glowplug button.

I tried moving the column mounted ignition switch but that didn't help.

When i jump the large posts on the passenger fender solenoid it turns over. Also when i jump the small post on top that has a little orange wire, to the rear large post, it turns over. There is no wire going to the lower small post.

Also, what is that plug that is by the brake booster?

Plug by the booster is a test port related to the automatic trans. Speaking of which, which trans do you have? Your problem appears to be that you are not sending a voltage to the fender mounted solenoid. I believe that wire is red with a blue stripe? Validate this is the case with a test light. If so, the problem may be one of the interlocks. Check your clutch pedal switch or transmission park/neutral switch.

It is a C6. When i was messing with the ignition switch the starter did engage for a second. Where is the neutral/park switch?

From the red with blue stripe wire that attaches to the small post, to the small post, i am getting 2.4V with the ignition turned to start. Large to Large and Large to small posts give me 12.7V

You should get full battery voltage between the red/blue wire and ground when the ignition is turned to start. The interlock switch is on the side of the trans, and contains those wires plus the backup light circuit.

The engine turns over when battery + is connected to the small post where red/blue goes. What else could cause the red/blue to lose voltage? The trans switch appears ok.
