No fuel at half tank

Ron it sounds like you had a similar problem to what I did. Mine turned out to be a marginal batch of biodiesel that I decided not to pass through a filter and H20 separator. I drained the front tank and thought that would solve it....but it didn't, below 1/4 tank I was sucking air all the time. I'd drain one or both of those tanks and put clean fuel and dewatering/anti gel additive in that tank. Failing that you could easily just drain one tank and make it run off 1 or the other. Should be plenty for just plowing snow.

Ron, remember when I converted the Moosestang? Trivia question. What was the first problem I had with it, and why?

Answer - Died on the road from fuel starvation.
Because - I overhauled everything EXCEPT the fuel tank.

Drop your tanks, clean them out, install new pickup tubes and lines, and you'll be done. You and I both know Murphy got mad, and this is the only thing he has left that works for him.

When you drop the tanks, once the sender-unit is out, there is plenty of room to access the inside of the tank.

Once the tank is empty, cut a hole in the lowest point of each tank and install a grommet-sealing pipe-fitting, to which is attached a drain-valve, which gets a screw-on cap when not being used.

This has two advantages :

1. You can drain the tank completely, when bad fuel is suspected.

2. You can draw off a can full to pour in whatever diesel equipment that may need a little drink.

Well I did have the tank drained out when I installed it since it came from my donor truck. Fuel that came out of it appeared clean.

Found the problem...........



Snowflakes in the fuel.

A pretty high concentration at that. Yeppers, got a bad batch of fuel.
Yep so off for some 911.
