So I got it home and cleaned the tach sensor cause in park and wot its saying 2000 rpms on the floor...what gives? I know its more than that.

Maybe the "new" pump is an IH Sspec'ed pump instead of a Ford Spec'ed pump........

IH = ~2300 RPM
Ford = ~3200 RPM

First off, sounds like the tach sensor may need to be replaced.
Second, does the popping from intake happen all the time or does it only occur during initial startup?
