New IP - Noise

I recently put a pensacola IP pump on my truck the DB2-5069 for the automatic. My truck is a manual, but I read that you could use the auto, since the FLIP was the only difference. Since putting the pump on I placed in line with the timing marks from the old pump. The truck seems to be running louder, like a more distinct noise over the old pump. I replaced the old pump because it had a hot starting issue. Any ideas? or is the newer pump going to be louder since its being more efficient?

Did you get it timed, or did you just set it to the old pumps marks? If you went by the marks, they are only good for the old pump. You may want to try adjusting it. And by "noisier" do you mean more rattle like a powerstroke? If so, turn it back to the driverside to retard it a bit.
