Picked up an 87 F-250 this week. It has a NA 6.9 IDI that needs a little work. Judging by the smoke it is running pretty good, just have some leaks to track down, a transmission to repair/replace, and maybe a set of return lines.

Planning to do a ZF5 at some point as the T-19 is not great for highway speeds. Other than that, happy to have a pickup again.

First off I have to swap in a new transmission, or at least rebuild the one that is in there. It feels like the synchros are pretty worn and the top cover has too much play for the shifter. If I don't shift it right I end up stuck in 3rd gear and have to remove the shift lever to get it set back in right. Because 1st is hard to find I start out in 2nd and that isn't great for the clutch. After that is going to be spent chasing down a freeze plug installer and possibly doing the return lines.
