I can respect you purist 'rowers', heck I was one up until my current truck. But as stated, the towing capacities are based on weight. Personally, I think the autos are easier on the drivetrain too. Ford is only offering the new diesel with an automatic, no manual tranny.

yea,Ratings ain't worth the paper they are printed on.A deuce and a half is only RATED at 10,000lbs.....but I KNOW FOR A FACT it can handle 50,000lbs easily as long as you don't do anything stupid......I have done it.
