Need some help with mounting some Carr steps

So I bought a set of Carr steps today. They supposedly came off of a late 80s Bronco. I don't think I can make them fit on my truck in their stock form, however, they were really cheap and pretty nice so I figured I'd mod them for my truck or pay it forward to a fellow OB member.

So I'm going to post some pics, but the only part number I found on them was on the back of each step, 1148 with a B below that number. I can't find anything online that shows installed views, and I have a feeling that I might be missing a bracket.

Anybody have any input or maybe a picture of some steps installed on their 92-97?

ya no extra brakets i did alot of these at the truck accessories shop i worked at im not really a huge fan of these there not bad though just be carefull what u mount them to

Thanks for the pointers. There are a couple of things I want to accomplish with these hoops: I want them mounted ultra strong and I want to be able to remove them easily if and when I decide to go off road.

Sadly put: I've been getting some grief about getting in and out of my truck , but if I can't put these steps on the way I want them, I'll just off them and let everybody else complain .

not real sure but do you gotta use a bolt w/o a nut for those?

I goofed (hopefully not) and bought the biggest baddest filter head/ filter combo for the best deal. On another site I found that the filter I bought is rated at 15 microns (she's 11" long and 1-3/8-16 thread.) so I limited myself on adapters in case I wanted to do..say an amsoil filter. Will this suffice? or do I need a true 5-/+ micron rating? I'll pay the dam restocking fee for my own stupidity if that's the case lol.

pull the carpet up and put a stout plate then undercoat the heck outta it and use grade 8 (or higher) bolts with washers both flat and locking

Thanks for the tip. It always makes me cringe when I hear the word "undercoating", as I haven't said that word since I left the salty Cleveland Winter.

Those are Bully Dog steps if I'm not mistaken, same as I have on my 90 truck. If I remember correctly, they mount to the cab flange just under the plate on the door sill, you have to remove the plate and one bolt goes down thru to the step, other holes bolt to the flange.. Don't have a pix, truck is 250 miles away up in Michigan.

Those steps are not a good idea. The twist the rocker everytime you step on them. After time they will create stress cracks and ruin your rocker. The rocker is not designed for that type of load to be put on them.

Thanks for the heads up on twisting the rockers. I like the rockers on your truck (I like the grab bars on a single cab too ) but I'm going to try to use these as I like the way they look too and I bought them right.

just watch them cause I made a set and they would twist the **** out of the lip below the door... that is until I started doing some reinforcing.
