its 850 hear for a 5 speed outta a junk yard and ther hard to find its too bad ppl are scared of opening up a auto 90 percent of the time its just one clutch pack that goes bad and a gasket set and a few clutch discks later tranns is fixed for less than 100 bucks but a shop will charge you a grand to do that .http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-E4OD-E...Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b7c08b19&vxp=mtr

see how much parts are buy a book and try it whats the worst that can happen . the e40d needs one tool to re assembull witch can be easily made and a torqu wrench

that may indeed be my only option. As a matter of fact I may have no choice at all. I will have to have a friend come over from Butte he has a tranny jack then my brother and I will try it. Thanks

only thing i can tell you is watch how the thrust washers and bearings go as you take them out put every thing in order as you take it out we use 2 pairs a welding visegrips to compress the clutches in the drums when we do them i also hily recomend a new tc as there is no taking it apart and cleaning it or inspecting it that's the expencive part
