hey guys its been awhile since iv posted since my last post i pulled my motor and sent it out for a rebuild due to horrible performance and low compression. the motor has been rebuil 2 new pistons 8 full sets of rings 8 glow plugs 8 injectors and both heads had bent exhaust valves so they had to be machined and fixed. heres my problem the truck performas horriblly it can barley go up a grade unloaded maintaining 110 kmh. my egts before my guage quite have got as high as 600 loaded at wot, the oil temps has touched 249 degrees. so im at the point im ready to give up im thinking timing but the truck starts great and there is no smoke white or black. so my question is what do i try iv got a beautyiful mint 88 f350 and it can be outworked by a half ton chev, its actually embarasing so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

600 loaded at WOT screams more fuel to me, get the gauge working and turn the fuel up, get it closer to the 1100* Redline.

Time it and turn the pump up. Rent a meter off of Gary(icanfixall) if thats what is needed. I saw the trucks that went through Mel's timing clinic at the rally. Every single one of them ran a whole lot better after being timed;Really. Mel and Corey did the members a great justice by timing so many rigs that week.;Sweet:angel: Max out your fuel screw and then turn it back a tiny bit. You were squeezing fuel through worn injectors and now that you have new ones, not as much fuel is getting by them, your fuel screw will change that.

Goose nailed it, you need the right equipment to time it right and you have lots more room for fuel. As a side note how is the fuel and air filter they can kill performance if they are not flowing.

Might I ask how many miles are on the injection pump plus timing will change many things. So you were able to save 6 pistons but ringed all of them.... Which pistons did you need to change. I'm betting it was 7 & 8 pistons. Those get the most heat because of the cdr valve dumping oil into the intake manifold. The back cylinders are actually bored larger by 4 then thousands. Clearance in the cylinders for 1 thru 6 piston is 0.0055 to 0.0085 and 7 & 8 clearance is 0.0060 to 0.0085. Kinda an interesting idea... Nobody bores them that way when they install a new set of oversize pistons.

Even in that location (I thought all Banks setups put the probe in the down pipe) 600* is pretty low, loaded and wot going up hill. You could pull the probe and make sure it's all there, check it with a meter for continuity, check all connections. Call Banks Power for help troubleshooting, 800-601-8072.
