Name that part?

This is a plug that is protruding from the wiring harness on my '93, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it is supposed to plug in or what it connects to. It's around the area where the upper rad hose connects. It appears to have been previously connected(it's clean not dirty), but I can't figure out to what.

Any ideas?

I thought that too at first, but there's a separate plug for that already. I'm kinda leaning towards a/c. I'm not exactly sure where the a/c would mount, since the Vac pump is up on top on the '93, but, I'm assuming there's a common wiring harness that's used on all the trucks, and mine doesn't have a/c?...

The plug on My truck looks just like that one and it connects to the AC sensor (?). That is not the only connector of that kind on the engine compartment either.

I know both of my IDI vans had the engine harness with the A/C connectors (one had A/C, one did not). Either they used a common harness in some years, or they had more of the A/C harnesses than the non A/C.

I'd say AC too. Either that, or some gassers had a thing that detected high presure in the power steering pump (from being turned to lock all the way) which our trucks never had, but who knows?

I don't think it is for an A/C unit. My truck has A/C and the electrical connection to the A/C comes from a different source. I'll take a closer look at the connection in question and see if'n I kin cypher it out. Okiegringo

Opps. '93 is serpentine isn't it. I guess you're using the '93 accesory drive system on that 6.9? 0n '88 through '91 I am almost positive the compreessor is on the drivers side over the power steering pump and the plug you are referring to is on the passenger side. On another thread the same harness fits '88 to '93. Maybe they ran a short peice of harness acrossed the front of the motor to reach the AC compresser. Somebody here must have a '93 with AC?

It is the factory ac clutch plug, all the harnesses I have seen have it. Some of the dealer installed ac use a non ford compressor and dont use that connector, they run a seperate wire from the dryer area. Found out all the possibilities when I converted mine to ac.
