I haven't looked at my a/c plug in a while, but I think the terminals are further apart than in the plug that Zigg pictured (and the whole plug is rather long and thin). More to the point, as others have mentioned, Ford located the compressor on the port side, above the power steering pump, on all IDI factory a/c setups (regardless of belt setups)...and I think trucks with dealer a/c are the same. And, at least on my truck, th a/c plug doesn't go anywhere near the engine harness...it goes from the pressure switch on the a/c dryer along the low-pressure hose to the compressor (maybe they changed the routing on later trucks?).
I wonder what the plug is? Certainly not something seen on an '84 truck
