I got about 7.5 to 8 mpg trying to keep up with 2 CRD Cummins.

Wow I don't think I've seen this thread before, I just went through all of it. Your truck is a beauty! I hope you get your hot start problem sorted without a major fuss, it looks like you even mentioned it awhile ago in this thread too. I can't believe your tow rig, that is a real cruising machine, such a nice combo of goodies all in one place!

Thanks for the compliments guys, virtually all the upgrades and maintenance have been a direct result of Oilburners!

Just returned from a 300 mile round trip to Central Utah to do some wheeling. The IDIT returned 9.3 mpg's.
I had the family, full tool and spare load and ran the A/C the entire time except for 2 long pulls through Highway 6.
The coolant bumped M for about 45 seconds and then settled back down. Transmission temp never exceeded 195*. The oat was 80*f.

The Ford fared better than the 4Runner...

Nothing much to report, just cleaned up the Ford after the last few weekends of towing and threw on a quick wax.

I forgot how pretty your rig is.LOL I hope those CRD guys at least garnish up some respect for your rig. Your Ford is a huge compliment to all old Ford battleaxes, just a whole lot better looking than most.;Sweet

Hauled a 24' Komfort camp trailer to the Mountains this weekend. The Truck pulled it nicely with 92* oat, 15 mph crosswinds and the A/C on full blast. The trailer does not have a wd hitch and it NEEDS one badly. I can't believe how it heaved around the CCLB. I observed the coolant reach the M and once heat soaked, the transmission held 200-210*.

We were loaded for 4 people, 50 gallons of water 60 gallons of #2, tools, spares and food.
