Finally moved the fuel pump down on the frame. I decided that a rubber fuel line 2" from the exhaust manifold wasn't a good idea. I spliced in a piece of 3/8" steel tubing with compression couplings. I guess the 1000's of feet of conduit helps since I bent it to fit right the first time. (bought extra just in case)

in the process I managed to drop a wrench on the starter and wouldn't yøu know it, it landed across both terminals and started spinning the motor. Aye, aye aye!

So now I have to just replace the headlights, wipers, 3 fuel filters (PO added 2 fram hi-po filters on the frame rail--1 for each tank) load up and go.
