I just got my mileage with the moose pump unloaded going 80 miles in about 70 minutes..... It took 5.3 gallons to drive that far that fast so... Around 16.03.mpg...... Towing a full load of horses (3) going around 65 mph I got 13.7 mpg.... I don't tow slowly ever. Now if the aluminum radiator gets here this week we will "see" how things cook out on the coolant temps. Thats about the only item holding me back from really getting into it and seeing just what all this work will do. Maybe a talk with Gear Vendors about creating a seven speed E4OD BTS trans....

Dang, those are some good numbers...16mpg at those speeds (70-75mph) is crazy good, my truck would be in the low double digits at those speeds.

He has an E40DOA and you have the C6. C6 causes very high RPMs, even though its a tough tranny its a hard sell in times of $4.50-5.00 a gallon diesel with even homebrew bio becoming more expensive.

I got like 22 mpg yesterday, that's about 80 miles on just a bit over 3 gallons of fuel. I was running 75:25 diesel/WMO blend, moving at 1800 rpms so about 52-52mph :( Yeah, I got them 4.10s in the rear.

With a 4:10 C6 with a Gearvenders, I just got 17.6 combined driving and towing a VW Diesel Rabbit Pickup on a tow dolly. (cause that is really a LOAD:rolleyes: ),..

but since it is Cummins it really doesn't matter hu,....

I usually got about 14 with the IDI

I'd have thought it would be more. I usually hear of 20+ empty with those early Cummins motors, though I know Big Ed is a big truck and you weren't really empty. Last weekend I was in the 15-16mpg range when I finally got to do some highway driving. I was almost empty though. I should be able to do a little better with the T19 and Doug Nash box going in.

jd-
big ed has two things going against it in the mpg dept. one is the truck is a highboy and the second is the large tires. both put out wind resistance and kill mpg's. My '86 had those two items going against it plus a lumber rack and stuff loaded above the cab. still, the truck eeekked out 14mpg from kali to TX.
