Do it man. Screw those electronic diesel owners, show them what a little ingenuity on one of these old IDI's can do .

Do it! Dave Sponaugle and Ken have proven it can be done, the only question is can you get something that will survive long enough to be useful on the street or on the job and not cost 10,000 bucks or more.

My dream IDI uses the 6.9 platform, ARP headstuds, custom forged pistons at somewhere in the 18.5:1 to 19.5:1 compression range, factory turbo rods, polished and ported heads, a Moose or DPS turbo pump, and maybe some modified injectors if those can be perfected. Not as wild as some of the stuff suggested here but might come close to whatever HP Dave is making and would put down 250 or better HP at the wheels. Oh yeah, turbo of course, would probably keep my ATS non gated and a 4" straight exhaust., Hypermax hood scoop and intercooler.
