Ron has sent me an email asking that I explain that OB is now a blocked site and that he can no longer get through, except when he visits relatives or visits the library. Appearantly his normal "daytime" internet provider is not conducive to us, so he's getting cramps without his OB fix starting today. He says he is really going to miss reading and posting regularly, and asks everyone to keep him in their thoughts, and he will post whenever and wherever he can. He can recieve his PM's, as his email alerts are directed to his phone, so you can communicate directly with him through that method if you wish to reach him, however you will need to give him an email address to which he can respond from his phone.

Well theres gotta be a way around it, that's just stupid. His internet provider at home is blocking it or at work? If he's paying for internet at home he should call up and tell them to F off and let the site through or find a new provider.
Should tell him to try one of these sites too, if they're not blocked.

Well I have a few minutes to divulge a little more info.
Yup I got my fix snipped.
When my friend Kerry was generating his first report this morning OB popped up and he knew it was me and immediately called me up and told me that it would be in my best interest to halt visiting here right now.
After an hour meeting with Kerry, tonight after work, who's the IT dept head he explained more in detail outside of work.
His dept has been dealing with a surge of computer problems the past couple of weeks and has discovered that those problems are stemming from people abusing the countys hosted internet service and tying up his staff for several hours cleaning up machines that were corrupted by non work related sites.
None generated from my department.
Yup farmville, fishville and others associated with FB and many others.
There is a county policy in place that prohibits internet use for personal use or gain.
After talking with Kerry at length tonight, I am only 1 of 2 people in the county is aware that he is monitoring ALL internet activity and will be reporting to ALL departments of who and where the countys bandwidth is going and why the internet service has become slow.
Since the elected officials are complaining and wanting faster service costing $1400/month more, he is gonna show them why it has slowed and to remind them of why the county provides service. Yup For work only.
But talking with him and in no way holding his Ford 640 tractor hostage has influenced his reasoning to tell me this, he asked if and what I felt would be appropriate personal use.
He's aware of what I do here and he has generated a good amount of mechanical work for me the past couple of years as well.
I did say that yes current policy dictates none. He said that it is there for other reasons(See head hunting looking for reasons to terminate employement).
He asked for thoughts on opening a window over lunchtime 12-1pm for those that need or would like to use it for personal reasons may do so on their lunch time and possibly after work hours would be permissable to approved sites.
OB will be on the approved list if and when the time comes.
So until I get the green light, my OB fix will be Sunday am at church( treasurer, gotta pay da bills) and nights for a few minutes when my mom has the kids at my folks' house.
Yup as Mel put it politely earlier today, it sucks donkey **** but I'll manage till then.
So for the time being if ya need me, either give me a shout on the cell as it's posted over on the BOOB site or shoot me a pm here with either a cell number or an email add in the pm as my email is delegated to my blackberry and will allow me to read the *** that way.
