ok this evening i done an 0-80 accelaration run, well i went all tha way to tha governer in first three gears, 1- 28 2- 40 3- 75 holy crap i didnt ever hear the governer kick in third just got scared and shifted, ok now my question i let off and shifted into foueth and then it was doing a surge kinda thing were i didnt even touch the pedal and it was just surgung idk is my ip got something rong with it.

just cause you *can* do something, doesn't mean you should.


unless it's dieing when hot, has no power, smokes bad, or does any of the other 'my ip is dead' symptoms, drive on and keep a spare in the back seat.

it dont die and has the most power of any n/a idi that i have ever rode in, and i know that i shouldnt do that but i just figured what the heck lol, but i need to figure my tach out caus i think its reving way way more than its supose to, 75 in third thats a little high i think? and my mom was a witness to it she was riding with me to the store

Did you get the tach working? Have you tried having another car pace you to see if the speedo is reading right?

no i havent got tach workin yet im going to work on it today, and yes the fuel is turnerd up and i have the timing advanced, and i know its i can burn it up, but its my motor if i burn it up

if my mom finds her video camera i will make a bunch of videos, at idle it sounds normal and going down the road its just like that, but when you push your foot into it comes alive, it sounds awsome when you have the window down i love them

I'm not an old man but... I'm probably older than most of you... None of my motors have ever seen the govenor... Ever.... But some do drive "bouncing off the govenor" all day long... These motors can take it. Remember, they are designed as medium duty truck motors.... Not race motors

i dont drive mine bouncing off the governer just every now and then i like to get up to speed real fast, the reason i posted is i had some crazy surging after i let off, and i think the motor reved higher than ever, but i dont have a tach, just my ear and my speedo

surging might also be that you created too high a vacuum in a fuel line and pulled in some air.
