Leaving lift pump behind

Is there any harm in leaving on my now disconnected lift pump, I've installed a Carrier electric pump. Thanks for your experiences.

Personally I would of replaced the $27 pump but as long as the mechanical pump is taken out of the fuel system loop, it will be fine. You could get a big block chevy block off plate to remove the pump and cover the hole, but at that point again i'd put the reliable effecient mechanical pump.
