I just removed my injectors to see what they look like before the new ones arrive. 4 were dry and 4 very wet. Can you loose prime from leaky injectors?

I have been chasing a very minor air leak and was wondering if this is it.

if they leaked enough to leak all the fuel out of the ip then yes but i would think that would be enough fuel to hydrolock one?

Lee, yes injectors leaking down will cause some serious starting problems. I had signs of a few bad injectors in my brown truck the second day I ran it. Lots of blue/white smoke on startup, so much I had to move the truck right away to avoid suffocation, and an extremely lopey start for almost 30 seconds after it had started. I should have just bought new injectors and had it over with (the ones in question were remans from Diesel Care and were new out of their bags). But I did not and now I may be looking at a freshly rebuilt engine with a bent rod, hole in a piston, broken valve, ruined turbo and/or another blown head gasket because of these leaky injectors.
