Knocking noise

When my 6.9 is at a idle and light throttle a knocking sound occurs but when I’m up to speed or accelerating it goes away
what is happening
I assume it’s not rod knock
does have a decent amount of air intrusion
white Smoke upon hard acceleration
any help or clues would be appreciated

Air intrusion does sound like a knock.

I sure hope it does I was real worried about rod Knock or injector knock

An injector knock can develop over time. If your worried about injector knock you can send your injectors in for a checkup or rebuild at classic diesel designs. But I would get the air intrusion fixed first in case thats your only issue.

Exhausts leak can sound like knock at idle to about 1000 RPM and then fades away. Good luck

Update: found a new motor put it in put the injectors of the knocking motor in the new to me one no knock
Tore the motor down no exhaust leaks at the manifold, and this was the worst rod bearing

Truly a mystery
