Just sharing some new parts

I finally bought some gauges for the truck. I was at the parts store ordering, and long story short, I left with 3 autometer sport comp gauges (pyro, boost, water temp), a new tool box, and the j clamp mounts that don't require drilling. I've been pretty excited to finally have bought all this, it's like driving a new truck. I did go with all mechanical gauges, so those who chimed in with advise on that topic last week, thank you. I plumbed the water temp into the over temp sensor port, and it worked like a charm.

I got the gauges in last Friday, and have since turned the pump up about 2 flats. I have seen a noticeable increase in black smoke. Mostly that it is now black instead of gray. My numbers are as follows.

STOCK
EGT- 55-60 mph: 550-600 F Floored: 800 F max
BOOST- Max: 6 psi
WATER TEMP- 195 F

PUMP INCREASED
EGT- 55-60 mph: 600-625 F Floored: 950 F max
BOOST- Max: 7 psi
WATER TEMP- 195 F

All of these results were unloaded, on level ground, in about 55 F weather.

Just thought these numbers may be useful to anyone considering increasing there pump. Let me know what you think.

Guages look good, and I like those low profile tool boxes. I would get one, but then wouldn't have any place to put my lights.

I turned my pump up two flats a couple weeks ago and all it did way smoke more with a little increase in power I turned it back down this morning.

The gauges are from Autometer. They are the sport comp series. Available anywhere. Cheapest online such as Summit.com, unless you have an available discount of some sort at an auto parts store.

Brad; I actually like the contrast from black to gray. Plus the front trim around the dash is black, so the pod isn't all by itself.

Truck is Cherry that's for sure. Sounds like you have a good runner. Is your truck running the Ford factory turbo(C or K VIN engine) or is it an aftermarket ATS turbo do you know? I think your numbers sound good, but personally I'd probably leave the fuel settings right there because the boost and pyro will go up when you strap a load behind it or in the bed.

Thanks a lot JD. The truck is a K VIN with the original Garrett. I am planning on leaving the fuel right there for now, but who knows about the future. I've began to think about intercooling.. (you see how this snowballs?)

The gauges look great! Good job! Where is the cheapest place to get gauges? I want the autometer gauges or similar gauges. No cheapies.

Summit has a very good price.. my setup out the door would be $329 and some change shipped if I remember correctly. My parts store price matches, so you may look into that. I also get a discount so I ordered them there for under $300. That's at advance auto. But online will probably be your best bet normally.

ROTBOX: Did you see a big jump in EGT's when you increased it? Just curious as to where I'm at compared to other's increases.

I get a discount at our o'reilley auto parts place since we are a dealership so i might see if they can do me good on some prices. I still havent gotten all my catalogs yet.

Where is your pyro probe mounted because those number seem awfully low. I've got mine in my exhaust manifold and it usually reads close to 800 running 55mph

My probe is immediately after the last cylinder on the bottom side of the driver's side exhaust manifold.
