That would be a fun ride! Although i guess at that altitude and speed, you don't get to see much to realize how fast it really is. But ICFA if you have ridden in it or flown it, thAT is awesome! ;Sweet :hail :hail :hail Even if you aren't allowed to discuss it.

If you guys ever get a chance to travel through Palmdale California you should stop at the SR-71 airpark at Air Force Plant 42. And if you have even more time you should make your way north up Highway 14 to Edwards Air Force Base and check out their air museum and the NASA facilities. I used to live in Palmdale and worked as a aircraft structure mechanic building both the B1-B and B-2 Bombers built there at Plant 42. Lockheed has a facility at Plant 42 where they used to do maintenance on the SR-71's and I got to see them fly in and out of there. I can honestly tell you that the SR-71's have got to be one of the loudest aircraft I have ever heard. For awhile I was working about 200yds. from the Lockheed facility where they would do engine test runs on the SR-71 and even earplugs and ear muffs would not block out the sound and the concrete we were standing on and our bodies would just vibrate like we were using a jackhammer until they stopped the engine test.
Here is a link you may want to check out.
