Yes, I tried the upload thing in the post area, but didnt work I guess.

How come I used to upload pics so easy?

Anyway it was a F-150 truck, but with F-250 emblems, and an old guy owns it, and he said they are rare!

Ahh, the ole LightDuty F-250. In the 97-98 gap before the superduty, Ford took the new style F-150, gave it a beefer suspension, 7 lug wheels, and a higher GVWR. A V8 was needed, and it had different axle choices. After the superduty was introduced, you could still get one of these "heavy f-150s" but not badged as a F-250 anymore. If you look close sometime, you will notice that in addition to the seven lug wheels, after 99 it has F-150 badges on the side, and on the tailgate it says "F-150, 7700" for the higher GVWR.

There are actually a bunch of these "5/8" ton trucks runnin around, you just don't really notice. I'll post some pics tonight.

keeps the costs down from the regular 8 :rotflmao

Actually, I think that's true. I seem to remember hearing that the 7-lug wheels aren't as strong as 8 lug wheels (in order to save on weight and price), but Ford needed wheels stronger than the 5-lugs used on F-150's. They put 7 holes instead of 5 or 8 so that they wheels can't be interchanged (i.e. you can't "accidentally" put LD F-250 wheels on a Superduty, or you can't put F-150 wheels on an LD F-250).

I think that was the case, but I could have it wrong...probably saved Ford $.50 or something like that ;)

It probably cost ford more to have a tool up for a 7 lug wheel. I would think it would have been easier (and cheaper) to use the regular F-250 superduty or hd wheels instead?

and the bean counters strike again! -Lame
