IP gear cover gasket?????

Is there a gasket for the cover that goes over the IP gear. The gear that I am referring to is the one with the 3 "special" bolts to hold the IP to the gear. Is it a gasket or silicone?

Just did mine the other day, eastside. Did kind of look like there should be an o-ring or something there, but silicone worked fine on it before, and Ultra-Black is what I used this time.

if you use anaerobic sealer, it will be tons easier to clean up and re seal next time in there

The factory used a kind of trv thats no longer made. I used permatex ultra copper plus. No leaks either. The trick to useing any rtv is to get the surfaces clean. Getting all the factory sealant out of this area is what takes so much work. But once thats done its a simple job. BTW that front plate that covers the three gears sits above the top of the block so do not worry about how it fits. The top gear cover that aluminum fits up in the bottom of that cover.
