I'm needing to replace the inner shift boot on my truck. Last time I had the transmission out, their were two boots. One is the one you see when you're sitting in the cab. Its held down by four screws and you lift it up to unbolt the shifter. Next, if you want to pour fluid in the transmission to overfill it or avoid pouring it all over yourself trying to get it in the factory fill location, you take off a second boot.
The parts bin lists F5TZ-7277-A as the part number for the boot. In a little research it seems that this as the inner and outer boot together. In my reading some also suggested that the inner boot is white, and that the two are connected together. Neither of these are at all what I remember. F5TZ-7277-A is around $110.
So a little more digging uncovers F4TZ-7277-A, which is supposedly the no longer available inner boot only, which I found on ebay very quickly for $23. I'm up for giving it a shot, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows anything. If it does work out, I'll let you all know.
