I'm needing to replace the inner shift boot on my truck. Last time I had the transmission out, their were two boots. One is the one you see when you're sitting in the cab. Its held down by four screws and you lift it up to unbolt the shifter. Next, if you want to pour fluid in the transmission to overfill it or avoid pouring it all over yourself trying to get it in the factory fill location, you take off a second boot.

The parts bin lists F5TZ-7277-A as the part number for the boot. In a little research it seems that this as the inner and outer boot together. In my reading some also suggested that the inner boot is white, and that the two are connected together. Neither of these are at all what I remember. F5TZ-7277-A is around $110.

So a little more digging uncovers F4TZ-7277-A, which is supposedly the no longer available inner boot only, which I found on ebay very quickly for $23. I'm up for giving it a shot, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows anything. If it does work out, I'll let you all know.

My inner boot's black, and is in no way physically connected to the outer boot. Unfortunately, I only have two pictures of it...my boot has square pleats, but it looks like the bottom may be round...so, while the one in the eBay link may not look the same, it may fit. But, I can't be 100% certain...

The white inner boot that they are talking about is attached to the outer boot that you see inside the cab. It's not really a boot but more of a gasket. The inner boot is the one you are talking about. I need to replace the one on my ZF6 as it's leaking a little.

I can confirm that the damaged inner boot I removed from my truck a few months ago had the square pleats , and the replacement from the ford dealer was circular. Fit in perfectly with no problems to date.

I think i have the invoice here in the log

I ordered both boots back in November, inner one was
FOF4TZ-7277-A. Payed $29 from Sanderson Ford.

While We are talking about shifter boots, I need to purchase a shifter boots that is larger than the factory boot and with a isolator inside so I don't get much rattle in the cab, should measure about 9" wide by 11" long.
Does someone know where I could get such thing?

Thanks.

I'll measure the one I got floating around and see what I can come up with,
