Started the truck yesterday, and ran good on high idle but as soon as it kicked down, the idle got rough and it was emitting a good amount of blueish smoke. I'm thinking injectors, or am i wrong?

Also should i replace the injector pump while i'm at it and does uhaul on ebay sell good products

A compression test with a hot engine. Could be injectors. You'd have to pull them and see if any are wet on the nozzle, when re-installing use new copper washer and make sure all carbon is cleaned on the washer seat. Wet nozzle's indicate a leaking injector. If you pull the injectors you will also need new o'rings for the caps and possible the interconnecting hoses.

U-Haul still has IP's, but they raised the price a $100.

Well uhaul has a IP for about $280 free shipping. I was told that you should replace both injectors and pump at the same time for best performance

okay, never done timing on a idi, how do you bump the timing

Mark were the pump is in relation of the housing noe, loosen the three nuts that hold the pump and turn it towars the passenger side, do in dime width increments

Its just as posted above. Those three 9/16 inch nuts are tuff to reach but it can be done by bending a combo wrench. Bend with heat and grind to fit. Its that easy. Now about the timing mark mentioned. Mel showed me a few years ago about using a center punch mark in the joint between the pump and aluminum gear housing. Make it large enough to be on both parts. Now as you move the pump the mark becomes two half circles. A dimes thickness is around 2 degrees. If you don't like the way the engine runs you now can set it back easily by aligning the two half circles. You can't make a mistake by using a starting mark like this. A simple line is nice but a circle is easier to see... At least it is for me. This method is called witness marks. I actually have used them for the last 40 years but never thought how they would relate to our engines...:sly Thanks Mel.....;Sweet:D

Based on your mileage and what i have learned on this forum about the lifespan of IP and injectors i would say it is time for new ones of both.

thing is right now i don't have money for them and would like to be driving it this week. paying mom $10 a day in gas for 10miles of driving is getting old. Anything that would help for the time being would be great

ya i feel your pain w/ the $$$$$$$$$$$

I am kind of going through the same thing as your are right now.
you might want to look into having the injectors pop tested. i had that done & found i had 4 bad injectors. replaced w/ some remans and now my IP is really showing its age.
