injector return line kits

are there more than one type of return lines? got my money in line so time to order some new injectors and a return line kit, but want to make sure i get the right stuff..also planning to order a baby moose in the next week or 2... truck has 276k on it and i bet all parts are original.. hope to breath some life back into it!! thanks ya'll...

If you mean brand, yes. Also, there are two different styles of return caps, the key differences being the ID of the fuel line running between the injectors and the configuration of the nipples (*giggle*) relative to the injector centerline. One is inline, one is offset. I THINK (don't quote me), that one style came on 6.9s while the others came on 7.3s, but I do not know for sure.

Best kits out there are sold by Russ, aka 'typ4' on this site.

Yes is the short answer but any kit will work. Now telling you that I need to know what on it now. Does it have a bleeder line coming off the filter head. Hopefully it does. The 6.9 version is a 3/16 hose size and the 7.3 is the 1/4 inch size. Both of these must have the same size bleeder valve on the filter head... If not then you can use what you have. Some small differances are the lines between the caps. They are straight thru the centers of offset to the side. Some engines have a hard line from the filter that runs the return from the pump. That line runs down the drivers side of the intake manifold and connects to a three way header at the back number 8 cylinder. Some do not have that line and they run the return from the pump into the number 2 cylinder return line cap.

Just contact Russ for a return line kit and tell him what year you've got. He'll send you the right one for your engine.

Russ is gonna ask you what size you have now. No matter what year engine or truck you have there are many differant routing paths these systems are made in. The large 1/4 inch line kit has an optional cap that has3 differant connections to it.

and that cap is impossible to get in any quality form. But im working on dipaco to make it. Maybe Mel and I can buy enough of that one to make it worth their while.

thanks guys, spoke to Mel yesterday afternoon.. Very helpfull... i willl be placeing my order hopefully Tuesday of next week, baby moose, BB injectors, and return line kit, he said he likes the6.9 return line kit better and said it will work on my 7.3 so i will order what he feels is the better of the 2 types... thanks again ya'll..
