I'd like to let everyone know that the lead time on Moose Mister injectors increased a good bit this summer. The first 3 sets I had made came in around 3 or 4 weeks time. Longer than I would like, but still reasonable. However, I have now been waiting 2 months for a set for a customer. The delay seems to be due to a combination of factors... sumer vacations, illness, and peak tractor pulling season. The hold up is our nozzle builder, who does a great job, but seems to work based on who's paying the most for product. While a set of Moose Misters IS expensive in the IDI world, it is the price of chewing gum to serious motor sports competitors. I wanted you all to know this, because I know we give other vendors grief about availability. Predicting how fast the next set will come is a bit like predicting the weather. Based on my pump builders forcast, fall and winter are the best times to get Moose Misters, rather than spring and summer. So if you are contemplating a set, keep this in mind as you budget for the year. Also, keep in mind if you write me for a set and want to know when you will have them, the best I can tell you is "when they come in", and offer my historical lead time of 2 weeks to 2 months.
Unrelated, but coincidental, double B injectors have been constrained somewhat this summer as well. I think Russ also indicated he was having some grief getting them or pricing issues or something. I'm not sure what the hold up is, but most likely we are feeling the effects of the down economy and manufactures trying to squeeze the most out of reduced inventory. I just did a fuel system rebuild for the Mad Bishop, and I had to use reman's because I just couldn't get new double B's in the timeframe he wanted the work done in. The rebuilds were good, and all popped tested properly before installation. If anyone wants remans instead of new, they are about $5 less per injector. I usually don't suggest them to folks, but if the availability issue continues, it may become necessary.

Stupid SOBs but you don't say no to that kind of money
That's the regular gravy train.
