My truck started sputtering just a little bit at higher rpms. I thought ok no big deal it's just the fuel filter getting a little clogged up. So I converted to a 1 peice filter (napa part # 3417). Got the fuel filter put in, got it started and it missed and white smoked real bad. I thought it was air in the lines so bled all injector lines and the schrader valve and it took away the miss at idle. Driven it about 50 miles since and at any rpms it's white smokin and at higher rpms it's spittin and sputtering real bad. My guess is the ip finally kicked the bucket. Original ip at 289,715 miles  LOL. Was hoping to make it to 300k before any major repairs but guess not. Im gonna re-fill fuel filter with ATF tommarow and it let it sit overnight after running for a few seconds. And to top it off I pinched a psyatic? nerve in my back so I'm kicking back for now. IF ANYONE HAS A USED PUMP FOR CHEAP LET ME KNOW. ALSO ANY TROUBLESHOOTING ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks!

Well you got all you could out of that pump. Bronze it and mount it on a plack. The atf is a good idea.It sure can't hurt anything. Ckeck out Uhaul. They still have several pumps or at least look on ebay for some pumps. Just don't buy anything till you read up in the hall of shame orask about who you find and might be buying from before you buy a pump....

Bought my u-haul pump for $230......6 months ago. The one I took out ran well with 100K on it, if you want it, you should be able to get another 180K outta it.:rotflmao

DB2-5013 ('92 - '94 - n/a - auto - with torque screw)
should be a direct swap for your DB2-5028 ('92 - '94 - n/a - manual - torque screw) ip.

Ken over at DPS says this too,for more info worth knowing:
Turbo Calibration - As the name implies, only good if the engine has either a factory or aftermarket turbocharger. We readjust the fueling and timing curve to take full advantage of a turbo, and normally raise the governed RPM to 3800. The max fuel delivery capability of the pump is also raised. Although we can do a turn-up on any rotary pump, the ideal pump to use is a "XX31" model, found in the '93 - '94.5 idi. We can bring an "XX29" pump up to the same fuel delivery, but the price will go up due to the extra machining involved. Maximum gains are seen when a matched set of injectors are used.

still like to have a couple front OEM fenders.;)
